In addition, Lamictal is a good option for many women wanting to conceive. Since the med has been used for a number of years and also used for seizures, there is a good amount of data on safety. After a failed attempt to go med-free, I switched to Lamictal for this purpose. It has been going well for me. It was hard for me to give up on being med free, but I consulted with 3 pdoc's and 2 OB's before deciding. In the end, it was pretty clear to me and the professionals involved that the benefits out-weighed the risks.
