with any compulsion, first we have to evaluate our perceptions of the behavior and try changing that first. you have started already by posting this question about sexual addiction. how do you control your urges? i don't know. everyone has their own methods at changing behavior. i personally don't think there is anything wrong with urges; we are human. i think what is important is that we act appropriately with our urges and that our behaviors don't interfere with our life/relationships. one thing that concerns me is you mentioned that you might continue to masterbate even though it doesn't feel good. to me, that seems contradictory to what masterbation is supposed to be about in the first place...pleasure. maybe by attending a Sex Addicts Anonymous meeting, it might help you find your own answers. i wish you the best!
