Elavil made me sleep A LOT when I was on it - which was fine for the time, I guess. I don't think it made me less depressed, I think I was just too sedated to really care very much.

It doesn't get prescribed very much anymore. It has more side effects that newer medications, and is extremely lethal in overdose.
