My red tabby Moe, has an odd shaped face that makes him weeze and is prone to sinus infections, and my other cat Gizzie has extra toes and when I got her, she had slipped a foot through a collar that imbedded under her front leg that was severly infected, and she had worms incredibly bad. They are both healthy and happy now, and my T says that the cats are the best kind of therapy I can have when my moods start going out of whack. She says it's really hard to be angry or depressed when playing with a kitty. (Although sometimes the little kitten makes me want to strangle him cause he likes to be bad. But it's okay, he'll grow out of it eventually. I hope)

You know, me too - Adele whom I adopted in summer has a stigma-causing feline immunodeficiency virus and no one wanted her for this reason, despite the fact that she is an absolutely gorgeous Maine Coon. She is not young either.
