Well, for what it's worth, Bruce Springsteen wrote the song in 1973, was a flop as a single for him. His words were "blinded by the light, cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night". a few years later '77 i believe, Manfred Manns Earth band redid the song. they changed cut loose to revved up like a deuce....etc. being a disc jockey for many years leaves one with a lot of at least semi useless information
