Thank you Willow...you are always so kind and articulate in your responses...I respect that so much.

In my sanest moments, I believe the voices are from a significant trauma history. I do indeed get lost in them and give them a more current role in my life at times though. I don't think they are internal self parts. They are the voices of others, I am fairly certain of that. I recently read a really good narrative on voices:

I think I need to keep them in the background and not focus in on them. Therapists tend to want to question or speak with them, and it seldom helps. Not in an hour at least. Psychiatrists want to medicate and shut them up. It would be most helpful if there were a hearing voices type of network in my area. Speaking with someone who understands the chaos and terror they inflict would be great.
