I agree with farmgirl, if you are not taking your meds as prescribed, then your chances of reaching a calm stable balance are small.
Futhermore if you are drinking while taking your meds this is a sign you should take your doctors advice.
I know there is a fear associated with hospitals but if you go in voluntaraly you can always sign yourself out and you never know you may find it a positive experience.
