Morning all. It was a weird evening last night for me. My son was injured early in the school year, training for cross country. He was just released by his doctor on Monday evening to run, so he ran Tuesday and Wednesday, and ran the last varsity cross country meet before regionals, just last night. It went REALLY badly for him. He was last when before he was one of the better runners on his whole team and is the team captain. My poor baby. The up side was his whole team (and most of the parents) were there cheering for him along the course, and as he came across the line. Afterward, he went off by himself for a while and then let me come with him for a while because he didn't want anyone else to see him cry. Before he left the meet, he went and shook hands with him coach, saying he understood the coach wouldn't be able to let him stay on varsity to run at regionals with that bad of a time, but he thanked the coach for the opportunity to try and for letting him run varsity. So, SO proud of my son. And I hurt SO much for him because I know how important this was for him.
