Everyone can have their own beliefs about God. I believe in a God who does not punish. I also don't believe in an all powerful God who "makes" bad things happen to people. Bad things just happen, to nearly all people at some point in their lives. I think God loves us unconditionally exactly where we are. I also believe God wants us to move forward and through our struggles, whatever they may be.

I am sorry you have lost your faith, but the fact that you still wonder and question is a good sign to me. In my opinion if you are still thinking and wondering then there is still hope there? I hope so.
