Bless your heart. I know what you mean. It can feel pretty lonely. Are you SURE that your family wouldn't be there for you? Don't you have any support? You might try talking to them -- you might be surprised.
First thing is you MUST start eating better. You would be surprised at how our diet affects our moods. If we don't eat properly, we begin to feel terrible. We become depressed, and lethargic -- all we want to do is sleep. You need more protein, and a balanced diet. Make sure you get protein, and lots of fruits & vegetables. Also, you should be exercising more, even if it's just taking a brisk walk. If you don't feel safe on the streets, walk in the mall. You're pretty safe there! Many people these days walk in the malls, cause it's safer than in the streets!
If your depression doesn't lift after you've done these things, then you should see a therapist. A good therapist will help you deal with depression and get to the core of what's bothering you. Your medical doctor can refer you to a good therapist -- someone that he knows is good.
I wish you the very best! Please take care and God bless! Hugs, Lee
