Not a waste of a thread at all.

I hear you, there are a lot of shows and movies I won't watch. I have a hard time watching the comedies, where every second joke is objectifying, degrading, or putting down women. There really is enough of that in real life, I don't think it is funny at all. I have a history of SA and other things that tie into this, so no doubt that attitude I see contributes to this part of society. I know people watch it and don't think twice, I can't help it though.

Violence, ya not really entertaining, It really bothers me, and bothers me that somehow I should find it entertaining and enjoy it, I don't get it. Violence irl... never good.

There is a lot of other stuff. And ya if you have been through a lot of it in real life, why would it not be triggering, or uncomfortable to watch, or see others enjoying watching it.

I don't think there really is anything wrong with people not wanting to have to re-watch traumatic events, I do wonder about a society the finds joy in it. I think it's pretty human to be able to empathize with a character, and be bothered or uneasy with their pain.
