Yep it's sad. I don't know why she bothered being so friendly if she didn't feel genuinely inclined to do so. Do you know for sure she has been talking about you? Sometimes people like to drive a wedge between others by saying something negative about one person to another person.
Anyway, sorry this has happened. You deserve to be treated with sincere positive regard.
