If your periods are still extremely hard and now they are infrequent, I would see a female doctor and ask about fibroid tumors. These are benign (non- cancerous) tumors that CAN raise havoc in the uterous. Before I had my hysterectomy, I did have fibroid tumors and one was wrapped around my ovary causing infrequent periods, plus causing EXTREME bleeding to the point of being very anemic, coming close to passing out each month, and not being able to go to work the 2nd day of my period due to heavy flow. The doctor said it was time for a hysterectomy, and I jumped at the chance. LOL So he took everything, including the ovaries and the cervix so I woulldn't have any possible problems with cancer later on. Sounded good to me!
It's been wonderful! I took hormone therapy for several years, and then quit. I never had any hot flashes or anything. Now I'm past that age, so I lucked out!
