(((((((Jenny)))))))))))

I too have some movies like this that I call my favorites for example lifetimes movies - Shame, Shame 2 and the Accused.

If it was just about the fact that the movies are about sex being raped I wouldn't call them my favorites but in some movies like "Shame" and "Shame 2" and The Accused with Jody Foster - theres more to it. then just the sex.

for example Shame a woman drives into town on her motorcycle, has some run ins with a couple locals in a bar while trying to find out where she can get her bike fixed and she goes to the home of a machanic and finds herself at the home of a girl who that night comes home from a date raped. through out the development of the movie its revieled the biker lady is in fact a prosecuting lawyer. She spends time with the girl and other victims in the town. Because the girl is becoming stronger and the perps are "the name" in that town they go after her and the biker. the girl decides to press charges and makes a statement with the police. like always happens in movies and sometimes life the perps got to the girl and instead of being raped again she was strong enough to fight back and jumped from the vechile. Unfortunately in the jump she hit her head and died BUT her friend who had also been one of the same perps victims decided she was not going to have her ffriends death be for nothing and SHE went in to press charges. It ends with the feeling that in this town they can no longer terrorize their victims into silence for if one goes down another is going to step up and say uh huh you are NOT getting away with raping us.

Shame 2 picks up where the first one left off I think a year or two later.

See my friends and I who call some of these "rape" movies our favorites feel its not about the sex..

Rape is about power and in these movies you see the process of the power being TAKEN BACK away from the perps by the same people that they thought they had power over.

They show how to fight back by using the judicial system, how to tqake back that power of our own bodys and lives, and in doing so learn how to instead of being a victim how to become a survivor where the rape and the perp is not going to rule the rest of the persons life.

I may have to leave the room during the actual rape scenes but boy do I love seeing the perps get what they deserve, and watching how other survivors were able to become stronger and fight back.

hang in there jennie.
