Oh dear, I'm so sorry your father treated you badly. HE was wrong, not you. You were an innocent child. He was probably saying that because of his own sickness. It's no wonder you believe God hates you.

I personally believe that God loves everyone and we are all God's children. However I often don't like the word God and sometimes prefer thinking of a Spirit of the universe that is everywhere and lives in all of us. Maybe it would help to think of a good spirit or something other than "God".
