I would see a therapist and put off medication until you're a little older.

Medication should not be taken lightly. If you do decide to start taking medication, see if your therapist would help you come up with a 'wellness and fitness' plan. Get in the habit of working out and eating healthier. Learn thoroughly about the medications you are taking. Find out their side effects so you're informed. Psychiatrists make mistakes and you're entitled to tell them if something isn't working out for you.

It is really important that you stay engaged in your mental healthcare. You have to advocate for yourself and stay confident in yourself. It is easy to lose yourself in the diagnosis. You have to remember that you have a purpose and you must PUSH ON!
