Very, very good questions! Rather than tell you my opinion, I would like to show you what the Bible says. I belive it is inspired of God and contains His thoughts.

You have actually asked several questions:

1. Does God hate people?

2. Does He punish people?

3. Does He allow bad things to happen for us to be hurt and feel alone? (And a related question would be, Why does he allow bad things to happen that hurt us?)

4. Does He really listen?
