omg! this explains it! I was sitting outside enjoying a falafel sandwich this week, and a father and son happened by, and the son asked the father if they were going in, and the father said, "no, I don't eat THAT STUFF" and he made a move as if to approach me but then changed his mind. I was starving, scarfing it down like crazy, AND I had my stupid eyepatch on. I was across the street from the Federal bldg. Well, now I AM going to have to go back there next week! I had no idea I was making a political statement.
