its not a job assessment test with an employer looking for a receptionist that can type 80 words a minute and knows how to input information into a computer kind of test.
the mmpi is just apiece of paper with average, normal questions and a spot to mark your answer.
for what you and your therapist want it for, you can do that during your therapy sessions or take it home with you. for that matter the therapist can ask you the questions verbally and you answer.
the MMPI by itself is no biggie to do and takes only the amount of time for you to mark yes no maybe sometimes and never next to the questions or answer your therapist verbally. I like doing it verbally with my therapist because she asks me a question I answer and most times we spend time talking about my answer and why I answered that way and leads us into the most interesting therapy sessions. my therapist learns more about who I am and what kind of personality I have just by asking me the questions.
the bottom line is the the only way you are going to get the present copy of the correct version that your therapist wants you to take is by your therapist giving it to you. there are no up to date, present day and free versions online
there are lots of treatment provider sites where therapists can download a copy or buy in bulk at discounts..

ok, just telling ya what she told/wanted me to do. well, she told she has had patients go take it online and print it out. she just wanted it figure out more about me, my personality, and where i will fit in a job plus she said you don't have an identity which i don't. everything we talk about my childhood issues up to now with abuse i have no identity.
i do agree a test is not gonna tell you much which is why i do not like taking career assessments. whatever she tells me to do, i do take it home with me. she told me with the career thing to "volunteer" so i can get some gratification and access my parasympathetic side instead of my sympathetic side meaning my fight or flight zone.
i told her yea that parasympathetic is accessed once in a while. i feel "gratitfication" can come later once i get a job somewhere and be paid, then let things fall into place then i can have gratification. i dont know, but that is how i feel. i'm a college grad from 2 yrs my field has outsourced jobs with no certification too costly.
right now, i am journaling things of my expectations and what i expect from others. she (therapist) is going deeper and deeper within me about my attitude, parents, relationships, etc things that i lacked growing up. there is a lot of deep rooted issues within me that we are still tackling.
i talked to a career coach not what i was expecting. i mean, i have no idea what i wanna do for a job since i already have a degree and was working towards another one i owe the school money. since i am talking to her about my personal issues and my job issues, that is why she wanted me to take the mmpi test.
she does ask me a lot of questions to learn more. on tuesday afternoon, we are gonna talk about goal settings, low self esteem, and realistic/unrealistic expectations i have.
