It takes time to overcome addictions to negative thoughts and negative emotions. They have momentum and it takes time to overcome their influence. It is important to disconnect the way you feel from the circumstances you find yourself in. What you need is for happiness to become a new habit, and until it becomes automatic you have to support it and protect it from being crushed.
