I am dx with bipolar I. Every time I tried an AD I would become very manic with psychosis present, or mixed even with mood stabilizers in place. I tried so many diff ones, finally my dr said no more AD's, which was fine by me, that got old pretty fast. Prozac was the absolute most damaging, and effexor next... goes to show how different we all are.

I learned a lot of coping skills and techniques to pull myself out of depressions. And that has worked very well for me over the years. You might be able to find one that works, but sometimes the AD's just don't work for some people. Probably see this more with Bipolar I than II I would think. Sorry that's not real helpful. But I get it, I asked the same question many times.
