That is all the joints that would most likely be affected with gout. I am not exactly sure how they test uric acid levels, but they can test it in the kidneys, and urine. X-rays to check for crystal deposits, and I believe my mom had joint fluid taken to be tested.

My moms is visible to the eye, at least with her toes. Very red, a bit knobby looking, but she has had it for a long time. I know she is on a medication for it, tho I am not sure what, and she does not watch her diet very well. Sorry Confused I hope it isn't gout, but there is pretty good treatment, and it can be pretty much halted I think in some people.

That is interesting about the chocolate, make sure you tell the dr that. And the moods, well hard to know which is the chicken or the egg. Cause being in pain messes with the mood, but so does food, and other health issues.
