I suppose you should not stress yourself about something like the transportation. Since the vet apparently really wanted you since they even called you back and made the offer I think it would be best if you are upfront with them.

Don't just be defeated and stay down but take the initiative and ask if there is any way they could help you make your way there. Take in any possibilities to get there. I don't think they would drop you just like that. And if it doesn't work out at least you know that you have tried everything.

It's really important though that you are not inactive and resign yourself to the fact that you won't be able to work there. If you really think this would be good for you, you can make it happen the first step is already made.
