Not sure what happened to my post.
But, we can choose your emotions and reactions to external life events.
That doesn't mean we ignore upsetting or happy events. We can choose how we react to them, see the good and the bad in a situation, realize the situation is usually temporary, realizing what we do have (food, shelter, internet, clothes, ability to read, etc.), and choosing to move on with life. Too many people get stuck on depressed or bad emotions, making them repeat the cycle over and over, staying miserable.
