Hi, I have taken Klonopin or the generic form in the past and am currently taking a 'cousin' form of Klonopin. I have been back and forth between my current Valium or the generic diazapham for many years.

Klonopin is a benzodiazopham sp? and is similar to Xanax or Ativan in as far as the anti-anxiety type medication, as well as other uses as above for seizures.

Klonopin and Valium are somewhat different than that of Xanax and Ativan as they have a long half life or they build up in your system slowly and stay in your system for days, the pharmacist told me that unlike Xanax which is fast acting for anxiety, while fast acting, it also leaves your system very fast in comparison to that of Klonopin and Valium. They take or stay in your system after taking them and it can take several days to get the full benifit of the medication before reaching a level in your system.

I have found Klonopin to be a good medication for panic attacks and anxiety. I hope it does do a good job helping with the panic attacks and hope that you benifit well from taking it and wish you the best of luck.

Take care, Kris
