I think there is both a direct fear of discussing it (social denial) and apprehension about triggering people and liability.

It matters because you matter, and your quality of life matters. It is natural to want to live, and to
live a better life too, not simply exist. I am glad you are reaching out too discuss your difficult feelings. The world would be a better place if we were all more open about things, imo.
