A stream called the Nimrodel came down from the Misty Mountains and flowed into the northwestern corner of Lothlorien. There was a beautiful waterfall on the Nimrodel in which it was said one could hear the singing of the Elf-maiden for whom the stream was named.

'Here is Nimrodel!' said Legolas. 'I will bathe my feet, for it is said that the water is healing to the weary.'
