He may be confused as to how to support you. Maybe he doesn't want you to feel rejected, or hasn't dealt with it much before and wants to support you as a friend and preacher. It doesn't matter. Preachers often give terrible advice and to terrible things. There is an abundance of historical evidence. You need to find someone else to talk to, and not talk to him about your self harm. If he brings it up to you, just tell him it isn't something you think you should discuss with him anymore and change the subject. You know what he is telling you is not good for you!
