Children are growing and need to move at the middle school age. Every teacher workshop on middle school I attend emphasizes this. Being punished for moving at that age is unprofessional and cruel! I don't know, if I were a parent, that I would go thru the chain of command, since the principal seems oblivious to the band teacher's antics, or condones it. I'd shake them up by hitting hard and swift. Schools hate, I mean fear and loathe, legal issues, and since the band teacher is clearly in the wrong here, let 'em have it. If the media got hold of the situation, BOY!
