Its certainly not easy. Breakups when you really don't want them never are easy. I think the best thing that works for me is to write that person a letter or letters and send them. Put your feelings down. Because if the other person still cares they will respond. If they don't care to respond they may still care but just don't want or cannot handle the relationship.

Either way writing letters (when you really feel like it) is the best way to get things off your chest. Especially in an emotional situation. It will help clear your head and sort things out.

Most important is to be able to own your feelings with this. If he doesn't want to be back with you then write a letter or just own your feelings on it.
