This is a poem, but it seemed more relevant for this forum than Creative Corner. I was watching a seagull fly today (yes, we have those in Utah, although it seems a bit wierd), and I thought up this poem. Shutting out my feelings is one of the things that I think lead me self-injure, and I'm coming to terms with them more today.
Luvs to u all! And let's fly with it!
Sweet Crusader (Angela)
When a Bird Flies...
When a bird flies, and it's windy,
she doesn't fly against the wind.
It's a losing battle.
The wind is a strong and a powerful force.
The beautiful bird learns to fly with the wind.
She adjusts herself to whatever direction the wind goes in.
She feels the wind,
and she Uses that Feeling to Guide her.
She doesn't shut the wind out.
Doing so would only leave her out of control,
and she would get hurt.
Wind can seem formidable, when fighting it.
But acknowledging the wind, Feeling that Wind,
a bird can transcend its limitations,
And I can transcend my own,
acknowledging this pain and these feelings,
and Flying with Them.
