Well, my answer is gonna be different, but I do think about this subject differently. I used to get bothered a lot by stuff like this that people would say, then I took a look at my own language and how I would do this same very thing to people who maybe I didn't understand so good. made it a lot harder to get mad about. I can usually understand why something might be said.
I have to disagree with "life is what you make it", I mean my grandma said it all the time, and it is one good memory I have of her, and I do agree with the statement. yes stuff happens that is out of our control, what we do with that tho, is what we make it. So I look at it that way. I can also see tho why people do not like this saying.
Hmm, I don't love the saying when life gives you lemons make lemonade, I really don't like lemonade, never have. I do however like lemons, and the universe must know this.
I don't like when people treat me like I am weak, which happens often I am sure due to sheer size and body language. I am not a weak person, I was a weak person at one point, so I am sure this bothers me for that reason maybe, and because I know what I am.
I try to let this stuff roll off me and land on the ground, where it belongs, certainly not in my head when I can help it. Maybe it's helpful to look at why these things bother us, sometimes there is an answer in there too.
