Piper, if you're willing to take a chance on this, it might really help you to get calm.

Please get about a dozen large lemons at the grocery store. Also get some calcium lactate tablets from a pharmacy. When you get home, cut one lemon in half and squeeze it into a glass of ice cold water (about 8 oz). In four hours if you aren't better, repeat the process, squeezing another lemon into ice cold water and take a calcium lactate tablet.

Both those things have a strong alkalizing effect on the fluids and tissues and are really extraordinarily helpful for calming your system. Usually for me, two lemons are all that are required to get a grip on the racing thoughts or off-the-wall ideas.

Barring that, try molybdenum (a mineral that acts on sulfites--you could be having a problem with sulfates in your system. (Available at a pharmacy, probably--I know that GNC and Vitamin Shoppe carry it. I use it daily to counteract anything such as toothpaste, soap, msg (monosodium glutamate used in restaurant cooking particularly) or anything else having a sulfur thiol. (50 to 100 mcg. daily work for me, but we're all different, of course.)

First, I'd try the lemon for about 2.5 days and then take a look at how you feel.
Stop using any stimulants for two days, as well--caffeine, etc. (no coffee, tea, or chocolate). If you're much better after two days, you'll know that your diet is playing a big role in what's happening to the chemistry of your fluids and tissues.

That's the most constructive advice I can offer you except to say that I know the racing thoughts and can always trace it to too much acidity created by diet and meds. (All meds leave an acidic residue when metabolized; that's a bigger problem than we know, especially when we're taking more than one drug for an illness.)

Please keep in touch and let everyone know if you're improving.

You're in my prayers, too.
