You can get a colonoscopy without being knocked out? I have a few years before I'm supposed to start getting them done, but I have panic disorder and the idea of swallowing a pill or getting an injection or whatever to knock me out, freaks me out! I know it sounds silly, but the moment I feel my body going out of control (like getting sleepy), I can get panicky. I've had it happen with normal sleepiness, even. But I would probably get panicky before I felt the effects, right after swallowing the pill/taking the injection, knowing there was no turning back.
