Hi ada37,
Me too! I was on Aropax (paroxetine) 20mg then upto 40mg, the constant feeling of nausea and the tremors made me feel much sicker than any anxiety I had been experiencing. If I missed a tab I would develop major headache. The tremors would kick in (no pun intended) anywhere and people would notice and inquire about my wellbeing. The shakes looked very much a symptom of stress and I was perceived by others to be anxious!!!! Dropping the dose back to 20mg helped reduce the effects. After about 15months, in consultation with my psych I chose to discontinue the medication and getting back to the serious stuff of cleaning up my lifestyle so I could manage better. I know when I keep on the healthy path I can manage most things that come my way.
Ada37 you sound as if you like to be informed and empowered to maintain some autonomy, don't be influenced by the doctor's attitude to your seeking information, none of it is magic and mirrors and cold facts often relieve anxiety when we understand why something occurs and choose what level of discomfort we are prepared to tolerate. It is not much chop when the cure acts as a counter irritant!
I hope you find the right balance for you.
Regards Frances
