I would listen to the police and ask them to refer you to your local victim's witness center. It should be in association with your prosecutor's office there.

Can you make one promise to yourself not to make a decision until you're able to make a better informed decision after talking with professionals?

Also, it sounds like you might be having some post traumatic stress with the headaches and isolation...getting in with a professional and talking now could help greatly.
