i thought about that and if it was just her to worry about then i probably would, h/ever the problem is it could create tension w/other family members, particularly my father as you can never tell what position he is going to take. and i do want to keep on good terms w/him, but my mother i do not want contact with right now. i am tempted but she is the sort of person who you really cannot get thru to - regardless of whether its hints or downright rejection. she does not listen to a word i say anyway so it could create more trouble than it's worth. tough call, but i don't think i'll be wearing them anytime soon.
