I have one of these in my bathroom. They are very bright but do help with SAD too. I'm in the states and picked one up at a home store for about $7. You'd have to see if they fit lamps. I think they are slightly larger than incandescent or the florescent bulbs. From my personal experience, I would not want them in a lamp I use in the evening. I think they would throw off your sleep.
Additional info: If you've see those Otte lights for sewing/crafting - they are roughly the same thing in bulb form.
