This is a very interesting topic. I have never hear this connection, and i drink ALOT of diet soda. My shrink pointed out that I have been "self-medicating" with caffiene, using it as an artificial boost because my own motivation is so low. I try cutting back from time to time, but I am truly caffiene dependant......
So if diet soda is actually triggering these issues, I am making myself worse when trying to make myself better! ARG!
