sorry about the bad dreams. made me think about the very first active imagination (AI) I did. it was in t's office, shortly after I'd had one of those nightmares where I would wake myself up screaming at the top of my lungs. That was the day she first told me about AI and a little bit of how to do it and she asked if I wanted to try going back into the dream, in the safety of her office, and ask who it was in the dream who they were and why they were doing what they were doing. I discovered that day that I have some inborn talent or something for doing AI's because as I closed my eyes sitting there on the couch I went immediately back into the dream at a scary part of it and tried to mentally ask "who are you" but before I could I started crying and had to shake myself out of it. But interestingly..... I've been doing AI's for about 9 months now and it has been almost that long since I stopped having nightmares that I awake screaming from. I don't know if it's the weekly therapy that stopped the nightmares, or the control over my dreams that being able to go back into them in AI's makes me sorta feel, but something has sure worked. Probably both.
Thanks for this!
