((((Little Me))),
I struggled with that most of my life and I have rituals that I developed over the years to help me sleep. I never knew why, but I always take the hair dryer and blow heat on my legs and arms before I go to sleep, and I always sleep with a heating pad too. I like to go to bed with the TV on as well "especially" when the PTSD got bad, to keep my mind in the present.
In addressing flashback and triggers I realized that came from my childhood because I was stressed and the stress brought on the chills. I also had some bad experiences when I was cold hiding out in the cold until my mom got home. I have night "flashbacks/terrors" if I am cold, so that is why I always sleep with the heating pad.
And I used to like to sleep during the day if I could, I just felt "safer" that way. So maybe you could sleep with a light on?
Sorry you struggle, I know what that is like.
