Is she considering schizoaffective? That might be the case since you said you have the hallucinations outside of mood.

I think the bonus to having the diagnosis would be that when you are having hallucinations and delusions it would be easier for health care to identify with what's happening. I'm not sure how much different the treatment would be, probably not much different at all really.
