I'm not sure what you're saying about the relationship you had with this man, only that it seems now he wants only a platonic one based on spirituality. I do know, from experience, that this kind of thing hurts. I do understand your feelings and know where you're coming from. I too am familiar with Fundamentalist Christianity as well as more liberal adventures in faith and healing. When one is hurting deeply, or in my case, I have tended to revert to my Christian background and seek healing and insights. This is one good avenue, but in my experience, whether good or bad, it is just TIME alone that gives me the insight toward recovery. The Higher Power has let me wallow in my mistakes, and I have accepted it as a means of learning.
