I wonder how the puppet must feel
forced to play a part that isn't real

I wonder how he gets along
knowing that what he is doing is all wrong

bending and prodding, he plays his part
he can't stop and he can't start
to live his life the way he wants to
but he does all he can do

to live
and to get by
the best he can
knowing one day he will fly

but for now he is a puppet on a string
and he deals with the issues that may bring
