Yes...could take a while. I know someone who cut a major nerve in the arm. It took years to grow back. Just guessing here but a smaller nerve in the pinky should take considerably less time than that. If the doctor who treated you couldn't put a month/year estimate on the amount of time it will take then I'd say that it can't be done other than offering anecdotal examples. Good luck
