I've been on the psych unit 6 times since February of this year. Depending on your situation you are either involuntarily commited, or your volutarily commited. (Either the cops do it or you do it) Ive been both. Seeing a thearpist is ideal (but I'm the pot calling the kettle black, I dont see one). It's really not a scary place, there are people there that are dealing with the same issues. Most of the issues that you see are suicidality thinking, and self harm. As long as you're not into making trouble, you don't have to worry about being restrained or put in seclusion. I would seriously suggest talking with your parents, and pour your heart out on them. That way everyone would be on the same page. If you really think hospitalization is needed then ok, but sometimes unloading that mess really helps. Hope you feel better soon. ((((HUGS))))
