"When I became a man, I put away childish things.........L Corinthians

There is a difference in the way children and adults solve problems. When adults lose something they tend to think, "Now where did I leave that thing?"

A child who loses a toy tends to immediately go back to the toy box where toys are supposed to be. Children tend to return to the most familiar and obvious place for answers.

One man said he always went back to his "toy box" when situations came up that caused him fear or concern. These situations occurred when it came to giving in or standing up for himself, questioning relationships, giving himself a break, or any of the complex situation that make adult children feel nervous and insecure.

But in our "toy box," that childhood environment, we found most of the wrong answers to the questions in the first place. Like that man, we need to find new answers, new sources of information, new toys to play with.

I have learned now to look for new answers in old places. I'm better able to think before I act.
