Lynn P...luckily no stitches because although long and deep the flap is narrow and too close to the nail. they glued it and placed steri strips over it before padding and strapping it up.
I had the padding changed today as it was pretty yuck and there was definitely some numbness along the outer edge of my pinky on the flap bit but the tingling is still there in ther rest of my finger. the doc said they expect it will be tingly for a good few months ! the silly thing is the cut doesn't look that bad now the skin is back in place but as i am allergic to all types of sticking plasters/tape the strapping they have put on goes right down and round my wrist making it look much worse than it is!
