I have been having really bad disassociation to the point where I can function okay, but there is this constant undertone of numbness and low - like I want to cry but I can't cry.

It's starting to really upset me and confuse me, in fact its really confusing me. I can't really think about much and although I want to move on and try and get better I am just stuck.

If at any point the disassociation wears off I totally disconnect and sometimes even lose control/not recognise myself in the mirror. 'Someone' else takes over, although this has only happenned 4 times.

I just don't know what to do with myself. It's like Im constantly medicated up (even though I dont take any medication) because when I go to self harm or something I just kind of lose all motivation for that.

I don't really know what to do, would triggerring help?

Thanks

that would depend upon what this word means in your location of scotland. here in NY, USA that word means to be upset, to be uncomfortable, to be feeling emotional, having strong feelings about something,

besides the definition of the word where you are it would also depend upon what your own treatment providers say for you to do. for example here in NY , USA when someone is feeling the way you have posted they recommend doing something to calm down, do something caring for your self, sometimes treatment providers here in NY, USA have a person take antidepressants so that they dont feel so sad, numb and low because here in NY USA being low, wanting to cry but cant, and feeling numb is called depression in some people.

just a thought on something that just jumped out at me..... you use the word .... disassociation.

here in NY USA that word means to purposely stop doing something.

so Im guessing scotlands word ......"disassociation" ....is what here in NY, USA we call ...Dissociation... with no a after the s.

so now I am wondering which word you meant ... do you mean you purposely stoped funtioning and now feel sad, wanting to cry but cant and numb...

or do you mean you are having symptoms that match our locations word of dissociation?

if you mean like my locations wording ....dissociation... when I have dissociative symptoms my treatment providers have me do some sort of physical activity to get me focusing on my surroundings and senses again.. my favorite one is rowing around on the water in my canoe. when I cant get out on the water I go for a walk along the shore or in the woods out of town. the sounds and smells of nature always help me get more grounded.
