Something that has helped me is to talk to someone I know I can trust not to freak out on me. I talked to my roommate once. I told her that I take responsibility for my actions, but that I needed to know someone else was looking out for me to. I told her straight up that I wanted to hurt myself. She asked me what I was feeling that I thought I was unable to deal with. I was really confused, but I told her as much as I could understand about my feelings and that helped me gain some clarity. And I asked her to keep an eye out, and told her point blank what behaviors would indicate that I was about to, or had just, cut. If you have someone in your life who will not panic on you if you ask them for help, they can be a great resource. It takes courage to ask for their help and admit your struggle, but it can be so helpful. If you don't have someone in your life that you can talk to, you can try posting on this site and asking someone to go in the chat room and talk you through it, too. The main thing is to try to identify your feelings and communicate them to an understanding person.

Best wishes! We are here for you!!!!
